Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 18 April 2025 · Effective: 18 April 2025
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the relationship between Lestari Tempo ("we", "us", "our") and any person ("Client", "you") who engages our watch repair and restoration services. By submitting an enquiry, leaving a watch with us, or otherwise engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Definitions
- Service: Any watchmaking service provided by Lestari Tempo, including but not limited to movement service, case polishing, and heritage restoration.
- Piece / Watch: The timepiece delivered by the Client for service.
- Intake Assessment: The initial examination and written record completed before service begins.
- Agreement: These Terms together with any written service confirmation between us and the Client.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By engaging our services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement. Minors may not submit watches for service without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
These Terms apply to all services provided by Lestari Tempo and take effect from the date the watch is received by us or when a written enquiry is confirmed, whichever is earlier.
3. Service Description
Lestari Tempo provides mechanical watch repair, servicing, and restoration services from our workshop at 12 Jalan Tiong Nam, Chow Kit, 50350 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Services are available to clients in Malaysia and, for postal intake, from other locations by prior arrangement.
We currently offer three primary service categories:
- Watchmaker's Movement Service — MYR 970
- Case Polishing Service — MYR 860
- Heritage Restoration Programme — MYR 2,140
All prices are in Malaysian Ringgit and are subject to change. The price applicable to your service is the one quoted in writing at the time of intake confirmation.
4. Service Scope and Changes
The scope of each service is agreed in writing at intake. If during the course of work we identify issues not visible at intake — such as additional worn components or hidden corrosion — we will contact you in writing before proceeding with any work beyond the agreed scope.
No parts will be sourced or fitted without your written approval. Where replacement parts are required beyond standard consumables, these will be quoted separately and will not be included in the base service fee.
5. Timelines
Indicative timelines are provided at intake. These are estimates and not contractual commitments. Complexity discovered during disassembly, parts availability, and workshop capacity may affect actual completion time. We will notify you promptly if a significant delay is anticipated.
6. Client Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Ensuring the watch you submit is your property or that you have authority to submit it for service
- Providing accurate information about the watch's condition and history
- Collecting the watch within 30 days of notification of completion
- For postal intake, ensuring the piece is adequately packaged and insured at your own cost
We reserve the right to charge a reasonable storage fee for watches not collected within 30 days of the notified completion date, and to apply our lien rights under Malaysian law for services rendered but not paid for.
7. Payment
Payment is due in full on collection of the watch. We accept bank transfer, cash, and DuitNow QR. A full invoice will be provided itemising work completed and any parts used.
Where parts have been sourced and fitted with your written consent, those costs are payable in addition to the base service fee and will be shown separately on the invoice.
Deposits may be requested for heritage restoration commissions. Where requested, the deposit is non-refundable if work has commenced.
8. Disclaimers
We carry out all work with reasonable skill and care. However, we make no representation that a service will restore a watch to any particular level of timekeeping accuracy beyond what a movement's design and age allow for. Older calibres may not achieve the same precision as modern ones following service.
Watches submitted for service are accepted in their current condition. We will document that condition at intake. We are not liable for pre-existing damage that was present but not visible or disclosed at the time of intake.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Lestari Tempo's liability to you in connection with any service is limited to the fee paid for that service. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss arising from service delays or outcomes.
In the event of loss or damage to your watch while in our care due to our negligence, our liability will not exceed the replacement cost of the watch or MYR 10,000, whichever is lower, unless separately agreed in writing.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on our website — including text, photographs, and design — is the property of Lestari Tempo. You may not reproduce or use our content without written permission.
11. Termination
Either party may withdraw from a service engagement before work has commenced without penalty. If work has commenced, the Client is liable for costs incurred to that point, including any parts already sourced with written consent.
We reserve the right to decline a service at intake if a piece is found to be outside the scope of work we can responsibly carry out.
12. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, we encourage clients to contact us directly in the first instance. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes informally within 14 days of receiving written notice.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
13. General Provisions
These Terms represent the entire agreement between Lestari Tempo and the Client in relation to the service described. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date shown above will be updated accordingly. The version of the Terms applicable to your service is the one in effect when your intake is confirmed in writing.
