What we attend to
Watchmaker's Movement Service
A traditional service for mechanical and automatic calibres. Each movement is disassembled, cleaned through staged ultrasonic processes, inspected, reassembled with appropriate lubrication, and regulated over several days.
- Written intake assessment & photographs
- Full disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning
- Multi-position regulation, observed over days
Case Polishing Service
A measured approach to restoring external surfaces while preserving the original geometry. Brushed and polished zones are treated independently, and vintage pieces may be handled with conservation intent only.
- Case fully disassembled from movement
- Progressive abrasives matched to original finish
- Basic water resistance check on reassembly
Heritage Restoration Programme
An extended pathway for watches requiring comprehensive attention — long-stored pieces, those with impact history, or recently acquired without service records. Combines full movement service, case restoration, gasket renewal, and dial review.
- Photographic record at each major stage
- Key decisions confirmed in writing with owner
- Written condition report upon completion
Why Lestari Tempo
The character of our work
Documented from the outset
Each piece arrives with a written intake note and photographs. Nothing is assumed; everything is recorded before work begins.
Handled by one craftsman
Your watch does not pass through multiple hands. The same watchmaker who assesses it completes the service.
Owner consulted at each step
Where decisions need to be made — parts replacement, surface treatment, restoration scope — we write to you first and wait for your direction.
Appropriate lubrication, not generic
Lubricants are selected for each contact surface individually. The specification varies by calibre, age, and application point.
Conservation-first on vintage pieces
Patina and character are not stripped without reason. Owners of vintage references may request treatment that preserves rather than removes.
Written report on return
For heritage restorations, a written condition report accompanies the watch on return — a record of what was found, what was done, and what was left in place.
Is your watch due for attention?
Most mechanical movements benefit from service every four to six years. If your piece has been sitting, running rough, or simply hasn't been looked at in a while, we're glad to take an initial look.
Common Questions
What clients often ask
How long does a movement service typically take?
For a standard movement service, we ask for approximately three to five weeks. This allows adequate time for regulation observation after reassembly. The Heritage Restoration Programme carries a timeline of ten to sixteen weeks given the broader scope of work.
Do you work on all brands and calibres?
We work across a wide range of Swiss and Japanese mechanical calibres, including older and discontinued movements. If you're unsure whether your piece falls within our scope, send us photographs and a brief description and we'll respond with a candid assessment.
What happens if parts need to be replaced?
We write to you before sourcing or fitting any part. The decision to proceed, source alternatives, or leave the component in its current state rests with you. Nothing is done without written agreement when replacement is involved.
Can I drop off my watch without a prior appointment?
We prefer a brief exchange beforehand — either by phone or through the contact form — so we can prepare for the intake properly. Walk-in assessments are possible on Tuesdays and Thursdays during workshop hours, though availability is not always guaranteed.
Are the quoted prices all-inclusive?
The quoted prices cover labour and standard consumables. If wear is found that requires replacement parts beyond routine items (mainsprings, gaskets, standard pivot jewels), those are discussed separately before any additional cost is incurred.
How do I send my watch if I'm not in Kuala Lumpur?
We accept watches sent via registered courier from within Malaysia. Contact us first to confirm the scope and arrange packaging guidance. We advise using declared-value shipping with your own insurer for pieces of significant worth.
